Kids book club
M.I.C.R.O's Book Club for Kids offers a 6 to 7-week program, where children aged 7 to 13, who are French-speaking or bilingual with a good level of French, are guided to write their own stories. This club provides a creative and stimulating environment where young participants develop their writing skills while exploring the richness of their identity.
About the Book:
Fier d’être Noir brings together the stories of ten children from Canada who share what it means to them to be proud of their identity. This vibrant collection highlights African and Afro-descendant heritage through stories of African festivals, traditional dishes like garba and ndolé, Bantu names, and sports victories. Each page is a declaration of love for Black identity and a tribute to cultural diversity. These stories resonate deeply, celebrating the transmission of UBUNTU values (I am because we are) within the family and community.
